New Mexico – September 16-23, 2017

Partnership: Oberholser Family BIC World Missions

application due by January 8, 2017

In 2006, God called Jason and Rebekah Oberholser to serve as full-time missionaries to Navajos in New Mexico.  For years, they have worked on building relationships with Navajos, pointing them to Jesus, and mentoring new believers.

The Oberholser family lives on a farm in Kirtland, New Mexico, which is a strategic location for their ministry.  With a background in farming and agriculture, Jason is equipped to hire men from the community in need of work experience, income, friendship, and JESUS.  Many of Jason’s employees have been a part of the Overcomers program, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, as well as Convicted by Christ, a support group for men recently released from prison.

Jason’s desire is to see a community of men, transformed by the love of Jesus and fully equipped to lead their own families.  With a growing ministry, family, and farm, Jason and Rebekah are looking to partner with short-term teams…and Encounter Church is eager to help!

Who Can Go?

This trip is for men, who have graduated from high school and are capable of hard, manual labor.  Encounter will send a team of 10.

What Can I Expect?

Volunteers will spend their days working on the farm with Jason’s employees.  Tasks may include cutting firewood, butchering, construction, etc.  At night, volunteers will encourage each other around a campfire.  The team will also spend a night camping trip in the Colorado mountains.

How Much Will The Trip Cost?

The total cost of the trip will be approximately $1000.  This covers airfare from the east coast, ground transportation, lodging, and all of your meals.   This does not travel insurance, snacks, etc.

Where Am I Going?

The Oberholser family lives on a farm in Kirtland, New Mexico.  Their home is just under 3-hours from Albuquerque.
