Beckley, WV – June 24-29, 2018

Partnership: YouthWorks

application due date extended

Each summer YouthWorks provides life-changing, Christ-centered mission trips for over 30,000 students and adult leaders in over 70 communities across North America…and this summer, we’re sending a team of youth to West Virginia to partner with this awesome organization.

In Beckley, in addition to serving through work projects, such as painting and yard beautification, you will also partner with organizations such as Energy Express, School of Harmony and the Salvation Army. Some in your group will serve at Kids Club, which runs in conjunction with a children’s summer camp put on by The Heart of God Ministries. On one evening, your group will visit the Exhibition Coal Mine, including an old time town (complete with a Company Store and coal museum) and an underground coal mine tour. Other evening activities include exploring the a state park, attending a local youth-led worship service and helping host a community cookout.  YouthWorks has partnered with this community since 2018.

We see this trip as an opportunity for our youth to learn how to love God and others more deeply, which is exciting stuff.

Who Can Go?

This trip is open to junior high youth going into 7th or 8th grade and high school students with a mature faith and a willingness to mentor younger participants.  Our youth pastor and a few chaperones will go with the team.  Up to 22 people can participate.

What to Expect…

Participants will serve through painting, cleaning, helping with yard work or doing other simple work projects. They will also plan and lead children’s programming, including Bible lessons, games, crafts and reading activities.

How Much Will The Trip Cost?

The total cost of the trip will be approximately $350.  This includes the registration through YouthWorks, as well as travel to and from West Virginia. Money for food during travel and souvenirs is not included in this price.

Where Am I Going?

Beckley, West Virginia.
